*PEP TALK August 2010* On our way home from CAMEROON in April, Sallie and I headed across the English Channel to take a few days of R&R in England. Our nephew, Todd Fogle and his family live a couple hours northeast of London. We appreciated the accommodations at their home, and from there made day-trips out into the beautiful English countryside to visit historic cathedrals, castles, ruins and sculptured gardens. Of course we also spent some time playing games with the family. Thanks to Todd, Johanna, Nathan, Claire, and Adam for everything! We also enjoyed the privilege of visiting Stan Boelman and his wife in Luton and worshipping with their people Sunday morning. *PRAISE THE LORD WITH US* Praise the Lord for safety and good health during our travels. We have now made nineteen trips overseas in these last three years, with only three problems: a bat bite in INDIA, a gall bladder attack in IVORY COAST and now an intestinal problem in MYANMAR. Praise the Lord for recovery from illness. The bug Larry picked up on his last trip (old-fashioned amoeba) caused problems for him for almost a month, but he is now on a prescription and on the mend.
*PLEASE PRAY FOR US* Pray for finalization of details concerning upcoming trips to "THE ISLAND," INDIA, NEPAL, and LIBERIA. We should buy Larry's ticket for "THE ISLAND" by August 6. (For security reasons, we must not name the location in public communications.) We already have his ticket for the INDIA and NEPAL trip. Pray for a resolution to the immigration problems being faced by Chinese house pastors seeking permission to leave their country to attend the year-long training program on "THE ISLAND." These men were to have arrived in June but have not yet received the necessary documents, so the first two months of their classes have been cancelled. The final interviews for the students are to take place in August, so it is expected that they will arrive by the end of August. We trust that they will arrive in time for Larry's class September 6-10. Prudence forces us to buy a more expensive ticket which will allow us to get a refund if Larry has to cancel.
